ACCA Sri Lanka Celebrates Milestone with Inaugural Diploma Awarding Ceremony

ACCA Sri Lanka recently marked a significant achievement by hosting its first ACCA Diploma Certificate Awarding Ceremony, a landmark event that gathered students, educators, and industry leaders. The ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of ACCA Diploma holders and underscored ACCA’s commitment to developing the next generation of finance and accounting professionals in Sri Lanka.

This milestone event emphasized the importance of the ACCA qualification in preparing students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the competitive global business environment. The ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business was presented to outstanding students from five Gold Approved Learning Providers in Sri Lanka, including Achievers Lanka Business School, Alpha Business School, and Premier Partners Institute of Management (PPIM). Additionally, Online Accounting.lk and Wisdom Business Academy were recognized for their high-achieving diploma recipients.

The ceremony highlighted the strong educational foundations and mentorship provided by these top-tier institutions, reinforcing their role in shaping Sri Lanka’s finance and accounting talent pool.

Chaaminda Kumarasiri, Chairman of the Member Network Panel, spoke during the event, emphasizing ACCA’s mission and the significance of completing the full ACCA qualification. His message resonated with the future members, inspiring them to align with ACCA’s global standards. Rakitha Jayatunge, an accomplished ACCA member, also shared his personal journey, demonstrating how the qualification has been pivotal in advancing his career in accounting and finance.

Nilusha Ranasinghe, ACCA Head of South Asia, delivered a closing speech, highlighting the benefits of becoming an ACCA member and encouraging students to pursue their next steps without delay. She also emphasized the comprehensive pathways and study support resources available to help students achieve professional success.

The event not only celebrated the achievements of the students but also reinforced ACCA Sri Lanka’s essential role in shaping the future of finance professionals.
