Creativity and Innovativeness are Synonyms for St.Joseph’s College, Colombo – 10 


Creativity is a wild mind and a disciplined eye. “Creativity involves breaking out the established patterns in order to look at things in a different way”.

As Albert Einstein, a theoretical Physicist, who was one of the greatest and most influential Scientists of all time stated, “Creativity is seeing what others see and thinking what no one else ever thought”.

Creativity, innovativeness, quality, standards and values are synonyms for St.Joseph’s College, Colombo10.

In line with the above thinking, the students of the Primary section of St.Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, under the supervision of Rev. Fr. Priyan S. Tissera , the Principal of the Primary School, successfully organised an “Educational Exhibition”, titled “Dreams to Reality”, which was held on the 16th February 2024, at the Primary School premises.

The creative and innovative ideas of the ebullient young Josephians was translated into reality with the Grace of God and the guidance of committed and dedicated Principal of the Primary School, Class Teachers and supportive of parents.Distinguished educator, Mrs. Nimala Perera, Deputy Principal, Administration, of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, who has 47 years of multifaceted experiencein imparting knowledge and enhancing skills and inculcating values and attitudes to the young Josephians and transforming them as professionals and multi-talented individuals to the society, the Motherland and the Universe, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The young Josephians showcased their talents on this day, by exhibiting their creativity and innovativeness, which was praiseworthy.

we wish them a Bright, prosperous and productive future as “great inventors” to our nation and the globe.

Reverend Father Rector, Reverend Father Vice Rector, The Principal of the Primary School, Reverend Fathers and Reverend Sisters, the Co-coordinator of the Primary School, the Deputy Principal of the Middle School, The deputy Prefect of Studies, Sectional Heads, Parents, Teachers, Students, Staff and distinguished Old Josephina’s including the past and the present Senior Vice Presidents of the Old Boys’ Union, participated in this programme and we as old Josephina’s wish to sincerely thank all the above-mentioned distinguished Administrators, Educators and personalities, from our bottom of our heart, for Professionally supporting our Alma Mater and imparting knowledge, guiding, molding, sculpting and inspiring the young Josephina’s to become valuable citizens of our Motherland as done in the past.

During her address, Mrs.Nimala Perera, the Deputy Principal, Administration, narrated the life stories of some of the great personalities of the past and the present eras,to the young Josephians, including Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci, one of the greatest painters, in the history of art, Thomas Alva Edison, the great American inventor and businessman and Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson, a British business magnate at present and Co-Founder of the Virgin group and a Space traveler and inspired the young Josephina’s, who were present on that day.

She also offered her immense valuable advice to the teachers and parents on the importance of “treating the students in a Professional and caring manner “, which was greatly appreciated and admired by the teachers and parents who attended the event.

Indeed, Mrs. Nimala Perera, is a treasure trove for the Josephians young and the old. She has been an Educator at St.Joseph’s College, Colombo10, since 1976, and she has produced a galaxy of multi-talented and valuable Josephians, in all walks of life, to the society, Nation and the world at large.

Mrs.Nimala Perera is a visionary, dedicated, determined, disciplined, multi-talented,duty conscious and laboriously working teacher who has unwavering commitment, razor sharp focus, perseverence and resilience that are hallmarks of her passionate teaching to the students.

I am greatly indebted to her, for all the lessons that I have learnt from her besides encouragement received, since my school days to date.

“May God bless her and the School administrators, Educators, Staff , Parents, Josephians young and the old, abundantly with continued success, joy, serenity, good health, prosperity and Long Life”.

“May St.Joseph’s College, Colombo10, the Hallowed Educational Institution, grow from strength to strength and maintain the highest standards in education, sports, co-curricular activities and Spiritual Upliftment, till the mountains disappear”.
