Country Manager,
Sri Lanka and the Maldives – OxfordAQA

OxfordAQA — a partnership between Oxford University Press, a department of the University of Oxford, and AQA, the largest provider of GCSEs and A-levels in the UK — has appointed Panchalika Kulatunga as their first Country Manager for Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

OxfordAQA has recently seen exponential growth internationally and is now aiming to escalate its presence in South Asia providing international schools with a curriculum that equips students with skills to think critically, collaborate with peers and apply knowledge to succeed in a fast-changing world.

Already well-known to many schools in Sri Lanka, Panchalika is excited by her new challenge:

“I am honoured to accept this new role at OxfordAQA. It is a privilege to join an organization that upholds such a strong commitment to excellence in education. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues, educators, and stakeholders to make a meaningful impact and support learners in achieving their full potential.”

Andrew Coombe, OxfordAQA Managing Director commented:

“I’m delighted to welcome Panchalika to the OxfordAQA team. Sri Lanka and the Maldives are important new areas for OxfordAQA and we’re looking forward to meeting with more schools in the region. Our globally relevant international qualifications are designed to bring out the best in every student, and we’re very pleased to be able to offer this to students here.”

OxfordAQA offers 22 GCSE courses and 14 AS and A-levels plus two student-led project-based learning qualifications designed to equip students with transferable skills for university and the workplace. They were the first international exam board to offer International GCSE Psychology and are the only one to currently offer International GCSE Media Studies.

Through their Fair Assessment approach, OxfordAQA ensures international students are only tested on subject ability. Using clear language and internationally relevant cultural contexts, this gives every student the best possible chance to show what they can do in examinations that are benchmarked to UK standards.

The needs of teaching staff are also fully recognised through the provision of a comprehensive range of support for every aspect of delivery, including a year-round programme of free webinars and teaching resources for every specification.
