Imperial College Welcomes New Batch with Freshers’ Eve

Imperial College of Business Studies celebrated the introduction of its March intake students with a vibrant Freshers’ Eve on March 22nd, held at the Havelock Club House. This year marks a significant milestone as the institution commemorates its 40th anniversary, showcasing its longstanding  reputation as a premier business school in Sri Lanka.

The college offers a broad spectrum of undergraduate degrees in Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, and International Business, in affiliation with renowned UK universities, the University of the West of Scotland and Queen Margaret University. Additionally, in partnership with the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA), Imperial College provides specialized diplomas in Marketing, HR, and International Business, along with the International Foundation program.

The evening commenced with an introductory session led by Pravinth Rajarathnam, Academic Director of Imperial College, who provided a comprehensive overview of the college’s academic prowess and affiliations. Further insights into the academic regulations, campus life, and the plethora of extracurricular opportunities were shared by key members, including, Dr. M. Ganeshamoorthy, Dean of Imperial College, Praveen Namasiwayam, Head of Student Recruitment & Services, Ovin Bimsara, Head of Marketing & Senior Lecturer and Induja Srikanthan, Recruitment Manager.

Highlighting the interactive nature of the event, the Imperial College Student Council,  headed by Chanusha Jayawardane, Head of Student Activities along with the students orchestrated team-building activities that served as ice-breakers , fostering camaraderie and connections among the new students.

The event also catered thoughtfully to its diverse student body, with arrangements for Muslim students to comfortably break their fast, reflecting the institution’s commitment to inclusivity.
