Postponement of sports meets : New circular from Education Ministry



The Ministry of Education has issued a new circular on instructions to state schools related to the postponement of sports meets and other outdoor activities due to the prevalent hot weather conditions in Sri Lanka.

As per the circular issued by the Ministry Secretary Wasantha Perera, the principals of all state schools have been instructed to adhere to the circular taking into consideration the health risks to children. 

Accordingly, schools have been instructed to postpone sports meets and other outdoor activities until the second or third phase of the first academic term of 2024, which is after April 24, 2024.

Schools have been requested to act based on the health and safety of children during this period.
