The Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) has revised the admission criteria for its Bachelor of Science Honours (BSc Hons) in Psychology program. This change follows an extraordinary gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education on December 16, 2024, which amended the minimum entry qualifications for this degree.
Under the new guidelines, prospective students must have a minimum of three simple passes (S) in a single sitting at the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A/L) examination, regardless of the subject stream. Additionally, applicants are required to have a simple pass in General English at the GCE A/L. This marks a shift from the previous criteria, which demanded two credit passes and one simple pass at the GCE A/L, along with a credit pass in English Language and a credit pass in Sinhala or Tamil Language at the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) examination.
