The Golden Milestone: Oxford College of Business Graduation Ceremony 2025

The prestigious Oxford College of Business (OCB) Graduation Ceremony 2025 was an event of grandeur, celebrating the academic achievements of 1,600 graduates in two memorable sessions. This year’s milestone event was graced by an esteemed panel of guests, including Chief Guest Dr. Tony Travaglione, a globally renowned academic leader and strategist, Guest of Honour Retired General Gerry De Silva, a distinguished national figure, and Deshamanya Dr. Gamini Ranasinghe, Chairman of Oxford College of Business, alongside the Board of Directors. The ceremony also welcomed distinguished guests from the University of Bedfordshire (UK), Dr. Steve McPeake and Mrs. Tracey McPeake, further solidifying OCB’s strong international collaborations.

This year’s graduation ceremony stood as a testament to Oxford College of Business’s dedication to academic excellence and gender inclusivity, with 51% of graduates being female and a remarkable number of medal and prize recipients also being women. The breakdown of qualifications awarded this year reflects the institution’s strong commitment to fostering advanced learning, with 37% of graduates receiving undergraduate degrees and 63% being awarded postgraduate qualifications, reinforcing OCB’s reputation as a leader in higher education.

A highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of Oxford College of Business’s new strategic partnership with Anglia Ruskin University, one of the UK’s most prestigious higher education institutions. This collaboration marks a significant milestone, offering OCB students access to world-class academic resources and international exposure. Anglia Ruskin University has garnered global recognition, including Times Higher Education’s University of the Year (2023), the Queen’s Anniversary Prize (2021) – one of the UK’s highest national awards, and the TEF Gold Rating for Teaching Excellence, placing it among the top universities for student learning experiences.

Each year, OCB honors exceptional alumni who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields. The Oxford College of Business Outstanding Alumnus Award 2025 was presented to Sanath Chandima Manatunge, a leader in the corporate sector recognized for his outstanding contributions to business and management, and Muhammad Zafeer Shamsudeen, a distinguished professional who has made a significant impact in the finance and entrepreneurship sectors.

As the Chief Guest, Dr. Tony Travaglione delivered an inspiring keynote address, encouraging graduates to embrace global opportunities and lead with innovation. His illustrious career includes serving as Pro Vice-Chancellor of Curtin Business School, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Newcastle, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Global Strategy at the University of Wollongong, and Visiting Professor of Management at Stanford University and UCLA. He is currently contributing to leadership development at the University of Sydney. His words resonated deeply with the graduates, motivating them to strive for excellence and become pioneers in their respective industries.

The Oxford College of Business Graduation 2025 was more than just a ceremony; it was a celebration of perseverance, innovation, and ambition. With its commitment to academic excellence, strategic international partnerships, and a robust alumni network, OCB continues to shape the future of business leaders, entrepreneurs, and industry pioneers.
